there's the hard way, then there's the easy way..... here's what we know in hindsight
We at your friendly neighbourhood GeoHub are here to help give you the benefit of what we learned (probably the hard way) ourselves as bright eyed little first years, (despite what age we actually were). So here we hope to pool all those little pearls of wisdom on a variety of topics too smooth the way for all those future generations of intrepid Geography students so you can get the absolute max out of your major and your degree.
Free software! stuff we've used over the years to make studying and assessments way easier/faster/cheaper/generally more agreeable
Prezi:
Prezi might not be news to everyone, it is fairly popular at the moment, but for the uninitiated it's a free program you can use for presentations and visual displays that kicks the arse of PowerPoint. Seriously, looks WAY better. It was definitely a leg up for people in Phil McManus' and Kurt Ivesons Urban Sustainability and Citizenship subject when we needed to look super professional in our presentations on urban waterways management to Ryde local council members.
AND as of recently they will now give you an upgraded account for free if you can register an academic email address (easy!).
